About Chelsea S. Blackie, Esq.
Family and Dependency Law Attorney
Welcome, my name is Chelsea Blackie, and I am a dedicated attorney specializing in family and dependency law in Florida. With years of experience in handling complex and sensitive cases, I provide effective and compassionate legal representation to individuals and families facing some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Education & Academic Background
My educational journey began at Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, FL where I developed a strong interest in social justice and legal advocacy. These early interests led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Florida State Univeristy, where I graduated magna cum laude.
I went on to earn my Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Stetson College of Law, where I further honed my expertise in family law, child welfare, and dependency matters. I was fortunate to gain hands-on experience through internships and clerkships where I developed a solid understanding of the intricacies of Florida’s dependency system and the challenges families face during legal proceedings.
Professional Experience & Legal Practice
After graduating from law school and being admitted to the Florida Bar, I began my legal career with a focus on family law and dependency matters. Over the years, I have represented parents, children, and families in a wide range of legal issues, including:
-
Defending against allegations of child abuse and neglect
-
Assisting in child custody, visitation, and child support matters
-
Advocating for the reunification of families separated by the foster care system
-
Representing parents in cases involving the termination of parental rights
-
Providing legal counsel on adoption, guardianship, and other family-related legal issues
My experience has allowed me to build a reputation for handling sensitive cases with care and providing strategic, effective legal solutions. Throughout my practice, I have maintained a client-focused approach, ensuring that every individual I represent receives the personalized attention and advocacy they deserve.

Family law and dependency matters are often fraught with emotion and uncertainty, which is why I approach each case with both legal skill and compassion. My goal is to offer clear, practical solutions that help clients navigate the complexities of the legal system while protecting their rights and achieving the best possible outcomes for their families.
